Dear Early Learning Center Community,
We have just completed an outstanding first week of school! It has been wonderful having our students back with us. We hope they are adjusting at home as well as they are adjusting here at school. This first week students learned routines, met new friends, developed relationships with their teachers and explored the gross motor areas. We know that next week will bring even more opportunities for learning and fun!
It is important to notify the school office, as well as your child’s teacher, of any permanent daycare arrangements. This information must be put in writing, and be updated if your childcare arrangements change throughout the school year. If your child’s dismissal plans are changing for the day, we encourage you to notify your child’s teacher and the front office. We want to make sure that we have a clear understanding of where our students are going when they leave us at the end of the day as safety is our number one goal with dismissal.
Please remember to call the attendance line at 847-230-1702 if your child will be absent for the day. Be sure to include your child’s name, their session, teacher, classroom number and their reason for being absent. Our attendance line is available 24 hours a day.
If for any reason your contact information has changed, please call the office and provide us with any updates. This way if an emergency arises, we will be able to reach you.
Parking Lot Safety:
Safety for our students and staff is a top priority. If you are dropping or picking up your child, please park in the blue parking spaces for the Early Learning Center and walk your child to the front door. Many of our students are dropped off so please remember to drive slowly around the school and be respectful to others who are dropping off their students.
The safety of all of our ELC students is a top priority for us. Each year we undergo practice scenarios that allow our staff and students to simulate a crisis situation. These practices include evacuating from the school building and buses, taking shelter during a weather related crisis and responding to an emergency situation in the school building. Please see the attached letter for more information.
Have a wonderful, long weekend!
