Dear Early Learning Center Community,
It’s been another great week at the ELC! We are so proud of our Sprouts and the friendships they are starting to form. Routines are coming naturally and you’d never know that it was only the 2nd week of school! We’re looking forward to an amazing year!
Parking Lot Safety:
Safety for our students and staff is a top priority. If you are dropping or picking up your child, please park in the blue parking spaces for the Early Learning Center and walk your child to the front door. Many of our students are dropped off so please remember to drive slowly around the school and be respectful to others who are dropping off their students.
Drop Off and Pick Up Reminders:
All students should be dropped off and picked up at the front door of the Early Learning Center. All families are asked to use the crosswalk and not go between buses for safety reasons. We thank you for your support with these reminders.
The safety of all of our ELC students is a top priority for us. Each year we undergo practice scenarios that allow our staff and students to simulate a crisis situation. These practices include evacuating from the school building and buses, taking shelter during a weather related crisis and responding to an emergency situation in the school building. Please see the attached letter for more information.
Our PTA does many amazing things for our Sprouts throughout the year: Birthday Books, Fun Fair, Family Fun Nights and School Communication Folders are just a few of the things the Early Learning Center PTA provides to support our students. Won’t you be a champion for children by taking time to join the PTA? Membership is open to parents, family members, staff members, community members—anyone who wants to help our Sprouts grow! You can find the membership form here as well as a form for this year’s spirit wear for the whole family here. Our first PTA meeting will be this coming Tuesday, September 10th in the teacher’s lounge. We hope you’ll join us Tuesday at 6:30 pm, childcare will be provided. We’re also looking for a few Picture Day volunteers for September 16th & 17th. Please let us know if you might be available to help for part of the day or more! Please see below for some important upcoming dates and District 54 activities.
Enjoy the rest of the weekend!
