Dear Early Learning Center Community,
Thank you to everyone who was able to attend our Family Literacy Night last night. We loved seeing all of the smiles on our Sprouts faces as well as on the adult faces, especially during the “snowball” fight in the gym! We hope you all enjoy your new books.
District 54 Cold Weather Response Plan
In order to help parents better prepare for the severe cold weather and snow we often get during winters in our community, I wanted to share with you the District 54 Severe Cold Weather Response Plan. Though District 54 makes every effort to keep our schools open and operational, circumstances beyond our control oftentimes dictate school closings.
Kindergarten Registration for ELC Students
Information regarding kindergarten registration for our kinder bound Sprouts came home this week. Since our kinder bound students are already registered within the district you do not need to attend the Kindergarten Registration events that are happening at our neighborhood schools on February 5th. If you have any questions after receiving your Kindergarten packet, please don’t hesitate to ask.
A new year is upon us, and the ELC PTA is gearing up for a flurry of activities that will take place in February. Some of these events are opportunities for you to meet other families, and some we will need your help with.
February 5: Love Pizza? Here’s a chance to enjoy Lou Malnati’s pizza, and support the ELC PTA. You can access the flyer here to help us raise PTA funds.
February 13 & 14: The Spring Book Fair will take place during parent teacher conferences in the hallway outside the Gym. Spring T-shirt orders will be delivered at the same time. You can volunteer to help set up, assist “shoppers” and clean up. Want to know more? Contact a member of the PTA Board, or sign up by contacting Barb Quinn, firstname.lastname@example.org
February 18: Spring School Pictures. If you want to help escort, register or encourage a big smile, please contact Barb Quinn, email@example.com
The PTA Birthday Books Committee is pleased to announce new titles have been added to enhance your child’s reading pleasure. Funds generated by the Book Fair will be used to support this program for ELC students and families.
We are grateful to all of you who support the PTA, and encourage you to attend meetings and participate in the programs designed to enhance and enrich your child’s educational experience.
Last, but certainly not least, the ELC PTA is looking for future leaders. Do you see yourself in the role of an office, a committee chair, or a stalwart volunteer? Please drop us a line and let us know your interests. Our goal is to support the goal of making every child’s potential a reality be engaging and empowering families and communities to advocate for all children.
