Hello Early Learning Center Community!
What a week we’ve had! We can’t thank you enough for all of YOUR hard work this week. We’ve truly seen the meaning of Partners in Education through and through. We are so incredibly proud of the teamwork across the board – students, families, and staff have truly risen above and beyond our expectations! We’ve loved seeing your pictures on Twitter, Instagram and especially on our new ELC Parent V-Learning page. Believe it or not, we’ve had 2, 233 views of our Teacher Read Aloud selections over the past 3 days. Can you believe that?! It’s amazing the learning experiences our Sprouts are having at home with all of you! Thank you for all you’ve done this week and will continue to do throughout our time learning virtually!
We’re sure by now you’ve read Superintendent Andy DuRoss’ letter stating the extension of our school closure through April 7th. We know this will be a new normal for all of us as we continue to move forward. Due to spring break this coming week, we will not be recording any new Read Alouds or updating our Question of the Day until Monday, March 30th. Although we are getting ready to shelter in place, we’d love for you to take this time to do whatever it is your family loves to do together – relax, recharge, sleep in, play board games, create a science experiment, follow a recipe together, have dance parties, create a fort, design some artwork, read LOTS of books, rewatch one of our read alouds, share your gratitudes, the possibilities are endless! Feel free to add to our “extra” adventures that you have during spring break onto our Padlet page here if you’d like to! We know that personal connection during this time is so important so share all you want with us! We’re loving your Adventures! Just know that our responses might be a little less frequent during spring break.
Reporting 2019 Novel Coronavirus – As a reminder if your child is sick, please email me at firstname.lastname@example.org . It is especially important for us to track illnesses while the COVID-19 virus is spreading in our state.
Donations for Families in Need – The District 54 Foundation has created a Crisis Fund to provide support to our most at-risk students and families during this great time of need. To contribute to this fund, please visit their website here.
Our entire staff sends you all a virtual hug and is here for you if you need anything! Please don’t hesitate to reach out. Have a wonderful spring break and we’ll see you all VIRTUALLY really soon!
We Miss You,
Julie Gorvett and Carrie Azab
